Norfolk Sport Karate Academy – July Recap

What a month it’s been for Norfolk Sport Karate Academy! July brought an incredible amount of energy, commitment, and achievement across the club. From training, to the tatami and into the heart of our community.

Double Competition on 6th July!

Our competition squad had a packed day on 6th July, competing at both the Central England Open and the Thurrock Invitational. With two high-level events running on the same day, our athletes showed phenomenal focus, skill, and adaptability.

Both teams smashed it with great attitudes and great results earning a total of:

Earning these podium finishes is no easy task and each one represents multiple knock out round wins in events consisting of anywhere from a dozen to twenty + very high standard competitors. Coaches Sensei Will & Sensei Rhys are immensely pleased with the dedication from the team and think it's no coincidence their improved training standards since training at NSKA and their much improved attitudes have contributed to their excellent results.

The performances on the day were outstanding.

Squad Training & Bootcamp Launch!

Training didn’t slow down for a second in July! Our squad has been working hard in regular sessions and extra squad sessions, developing their skills and building competition readiness.

A big addition this month was the launch of our Monday Night Bootcamp, in collaboration with Your Community Fitness. This high-energy class is open to all abilities, providing a fantastic space to improve strength, endurance, and mental toughness all while having fun and staying connected as a team community.

Giving Back: Community & Charity!

July was also a month where we gave back. We were honoured to support East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) at the Royal Norfolk Show, helping raise awareness and funds for an incredible cause that supports families across our region offering a free 4-week trial to a raffle winner! 🙌

We also partnered with Tesco Drayton for a special community initiative, offering a free 4-week trial to one of the winners of their competition. A small gesture for a truly meaningful cause. These opportunities remind us how martial arts can connect us not just through sport, but through service and compassion. 🙌

Launch of NSKA Merchandise & Squad Kit!

Our squad continues to look sharp and professional all thanks to the latest NSKA branded kit and sportswear. That can be bought from our ArtMartial store online. From training hoodies and squad tees to high-performance tracksuits and competition gear, our members are proudly representing the club in and out of the dojo. The professional look not only boosts team identity but also reflects the trajectory and progression we are making as a team and club as a whole! 🥋

Ready for August!

As we look to August, the momentum continues to build. We’re thrilled to share that some of our athletes are being selected for major British and English Championships alike the BKF International Championships and even international competitions later on in the year. A testament to their hard work and the support of our coaching team and Association Links Karate. 💪

August also comes with its challenges created by the Coaches! After the success of the previous two fitness challenges we have created a further challenge in August taking the form of 100 push ups a day!

We’re challenging YOU to rep out 100 push ups per day to reach 3,000 reps by the end of the month! Building your upper body strength and improving your karate ability.

Get your family and friends involved, track your progress, share your experience, and get fitter day by day as we smash through the NSKA August fitness challenge! 💪
